Samos Sub offers up-to-date, operational, complete and realistic training for Public Safety Divers. A Public Safety Diver (PSD) is a Fire, EMT, Police or SAR diver. He is called to respond to emergencies 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and may be required to dive in the middle of the night, during inclement weather, in zero visibility “black water,” or in waters polluted by chemicals and biohazards. In addition to basic diving skills training, public safety divers require specialized training for recognizing hazards, conducting risk assessments, search procedures, diving in zero visibility, using full-face masks with communication systems, diving with dry suits, managing stress and recovering evidence that is admissible in court. Samos Sub training program is designed not only to develop capable professional or volunteer Public Safety Divers but to develop Public Safety Diving Teams ready to respond safely and effectively when and where they are called to service.

Our goals are:
• The development of Public Safety Diving in Greece, by training competent Public Safety Divers according to international work and training standards.
• To prepare our PSD students for the real conditions and environments they will be called to operate in.
• To insure safety and effectiveness in training and operations.
• To assist agencies and teams in the development of their Public Safety Diving program.

Additionally, in Samos Sub Diving Center you can train and get certified for all prerequisite specialties and courses, prior to your enrollment to one of our Public Safety Diver training courses. To enroll in a PSD course you must be at least 18 years old, a dry suit diver, a full face mask diver and cover all the prerequisites of the corresponding course.
